Every person who collects a child from care must be on the child’s enrolment form (HubWorks). Please review the enrolment form for your child. A child may only leave if given into the care of a parent; an authorised nominee in the child’s enrolment record; or a person authorised by a parent in the enrolment form to collect the child.
In school age care settings educators collaborate with children to provide play and leisure opportunities that are meaningful to children and support their wellbeing, learning and development. A program in the school age care setting is ‘all the interactions, experiences, activities, routines and events, planned and unplanned, that occur in an environment designed to foster children’s wellbeing, development and learning’. Meaningful play and leisure describe the context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects, ideas and the environment.
If your family’s circumstances change and you receive Child Care Subsidy, let DHS know otherwise they may overpay you. If you don’t update DHS and they pay you too much, you’ll need to pay it back. All changes need to be notified within 14 days of the change. You might not always think that change affects the amount of subsidy you get, but some can. Here are the top three changes you need to tell DHS about; Income changes, Activity level changes, Relationship Changes. https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/news/top-3-changes-affect-your-child-care-subsidy
Research shows children are much more likely to reach their full potential in life when their family and education and care service work together. These benefits are evident when families and educators exchange information regularly and collaborate on consistent approaches to daily routines, child development and learning. We are interested to learn from you what information you would like to receive from us, both within this monthly Parent Update and on our Facebook @WynnumFamilyDayCare
Would you like to become more involved in the service? There is a current vacancy for a WFDC Parent Representative on our Community Childcare Inc. Management Committee? This bi-monthly meeting supports the CCI objectives of providing quality child care; developing community networks and to communicate and be part of community initiatives. The CCI Management Committee has the general control and management of the administration of the affairs, property and funds of the Association.
